This month we asked our bartender Aman for a cocktail recipe to share; this is something he has been working on for a while so he took us through how he makes it.

So here it is:

I’m using Brokers Gin in this cocktail, it’s made in Birmingham so it feels right but I’m also using La Fée Absinthe for that nod to the French side of New Orleans.

50ml Brokers Gin
7.5ml La Fée Absinthe
20ml Velvet Falernum
20ml Apple Juice
20ml Lime Juice
about an inch of a Cucumber
8 mint leaves

Served in a martini glass

First of all you will need to get your martini glass nice and chilled, fill it with crushed ice and set aside while you get on with the rest.
You should cut the cucumber into small chunks which will help release the flavour when we get to the shaking.
Now you can get the rest of the ingredients together and get them in the shaker, pour everything in along with a few cubes of ice and get shaking. Give it a good 20-30 seconds worth of shake and then strain into your martini glass (ice removed)
Garnish with thinly sliced cucumber and fresh black pepper.

There you have it, my NOLA SO-FRESH. Enjoy.
