The Church serves real soul food, great drinks with deep south hospitality in a proper pub setting! We are looking for a line chef and a sous chef to join our dedicated kitchen team. The applicant must be passionate about food and cookery. We’re looking for people to join our Soul Food Project family and become integral part of the team at The Church. Line Chef

We’re looking for a passionate, dedicated line chef to join the team at The Church Inn. The Church is a busy, food centric pub where almost all the food we serve is prepared from scratch.

You will need;

A huge passion for cookery and food
Incredible time keeping
A strong work ethic
Exceptionally high cleanliness standards
Food hygiene level 2 (at least)
At least 2 years kitchen experience (cooking)
An understanding of seasonal produce
The right to live and work in the UK
Full understanding of both written and spoken English
The ability to be self motivated and have pride in what you do

The job will entail;

Producing food at the highest standard as part of a hard working kitchen team
Ensuring the kitchen and stock rooms are exceptionally clean
Helping with stock takes
Following orders and completing tasks set to the highest standard
Working 5 days over 7. Daytimes, evenings & weekends.
Partaking in ongoing training

£7.50 p/h starting wage with a rise to £8 p/h after probation period.

Sous Chef

We’re looking for a passionate, dedicated Sous Chef to join the team at The Church Inn. This chef will be expected to deputize for the Head Chef when he is not on shift. The Church is a busy, food centric pub where almost all the food we serve is prepared from scratch.

You will need;

A huge passion for cookery and food
Incredible time keeping
A strong work ethic
Exceptionally high cleanliness standards
Food hygiene level 2 (at least)
At least 1 year of experience within this role
An understanding of seasonal produce
The right to live and work in the UK
Full understanding of both written and spoken English
The ability to be self motivated and have pride in what you do
People management skills
Passion for Cajun Cuisine

The job will entail;

Leading a team of chefs throughout busy service.
Great teamwork
Producing food from fresh produce at the highest standard and as part of a hard working kitchen team
Ensuring the kitchen and stock rooms are exceptionally clean
Helping with stock takes
Following orders and completing tasks set to the highest standard
Working 5 days over 7. Including evening and weekends.
Partaking in ongoing training
